Who we are

iMeetStand is operated by Imeetstand LLC, 1 Ruby Field Ct., Baltimore, MD 21209. You can reach us at support@imeetstand.com. “We” and “us” mean that operator.

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account, signing in, or using iMeetStand, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

You must be at least 13 years old to have an account. iMeetStand is not for children under 13: do not create an account if you are under 13, and if we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13 we will close it. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf.

Your account

One account per person, and the account is yours: keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has used it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Your username has to be one you are entitled to; we may reclaim a username that impersonates somebody or that a name reservation covers.

Your scores

Your sheet music is your file. You are responsible for having the right to use any score you import, whether you bought it, scanned your own copy, or downloaded it from a public-domain source. We keep your score in a private library that only your own signed-in devices can read, and we never show, serve, or transfer it to another person.

When you ask a question about a passage, you box that passage and the boxed fragment, and only that fragment, is shown to other people who hold the same piece, for up to twenty-four hours unless somebody keeps the answer. Only box a passage you are entitled to share in that way.

Public-domain scores found through IMSLP are IMSLP’s content, under IMSLP’s own terms; we fetch a file on your request and keep no copy of it on our servers.

What you post

You can post questions, ink drawn on somebody’s question, practice videos, comments, messages, reactions, GIFs and posts in community rooms. What you post is yours. So that the app can work, you give us permission to store it and to show it to the people the product shows it to: a question to holders of the same piece, a message to the person you sent it to, a video or a post to the audience you chose. That permission ends when the content is deleted, whether by you, by the clock a question runs on, or by us under these terms.

What is not allowed

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on iMeetStand. The Community guidelines say this list in plain words and how it is enforced; this section remains the binding text. Do not post or send:

  • harassment, bullying, or threats against anyone;
  • hate, slurs, or content that attacks people for who they are;
  • sexual or graphic content;
  • anything sexual involving a minor, which we report to the authorities;
  • spam, scams, or advertising;
  • content you do not have the right to share, including scores and recordings you do not own the rights to;
  • anything that impersonates another person or organisation;
  • anything illegal where you are or where we are.

Do not interfere with the service: no automated access, no probing of other people’s data, no attempts to get around a block, a rate limit, or a report.

Reports, blocks, and what we do about them

Every post, reel, comment, room, message, question, answer and profile that somebody else wrote can be reported from inside the app, and any person can be blocked. A block stops the two of you from seeing or contacting each other. We review every report and aim to act on it within twenty-four hours of receiving it.

If content breaks these terms we may remove it. If an account breaks these terms we may suspend or close it, with or without warning, depending on what happened. A suspended account cannot sign in, and what it posted stays where it was until it is removed under these terms or the account is erased. We may also remove content or restrict an account where the law requires it or to protect other people. If you think we got a decision wrong, write to support@imeetstand.com and say which content or account it concerns.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile: open the profile menu, choose Delete account, and confirm. Deletion removes your scores in the cloud, your questions and the answers on them, your answers on other people’s questions, your messages for both sides, your videos and posts, and everything the app stored on that device. There is no undo. What analytics data remains, and why it can no longer be connected to you, is described in the privacy notice. One exception: while a copyright legal hold covers your account, deletion is refused with a stated reason, and completes once the hold ends.

Other people's services

Signing in with Apple or Google uses those companies’ services under their terms. Scores from IMSLP, GIFs from KLIPY, and voice transcription on a device or through our transcription provider are each described in the privacy notice. Links that open outside the app lead to sites we do not control.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we update the date at the top, and for a change that matters we tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using the app after that date means you accept the change.

What we do not promise

iMeetStand is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, that it will be free of mistakes, or that any answer you receive from another person is correct. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and fifty US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Maryland, United States. Disputes are heard in the courts of Baltimore, Maryland, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

The App Store version

If you use iMeetStand through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard End User License Agreement governs your download of the app, and these terms govern your relationship with us. The following also applies, as Apple requires.

  • This agreement is between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
  • The licence we give you to use the app is limited, non-transferable, and for use on an Apple-branded device that you own or control, as Apple’s App Store terms allow, including for other accounts that share your purchases through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for any maintenance and support of the app. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
  • If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, to you. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
  • If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Our name and address are given above under “Who we are”; that is where questions, complaints and claims about the app should go.
  • You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and, upon your acceptance of it, have the right to enforce it against you.
